One has to wonder what the Suns are thinking.

Shaq's only health 1/4 of the time in a good year. Say goodbye to the uptempo game too.

Looks like the Lakers got Gasol and the Suns got desperate.

At least the Heat got a good player in Marion IF D-Wade can
talk some sense into him.

Respectfully, Shaq may be on his way to a 5th ring. We all know motivation is a big factor in Shaq's performance; failing to make the all-star team for the first time coupled with being in the basement with The Heat should motivate Shaq to become a beast again with this chance at redemption. He is averaging 14 and 9 now, if he gives them that alone with his presence in the middle it should be worth it.

If Shaq makes his usual second half transformation for a playoff run it will be interesting in the west.

I think the Suns realized they weren't going to win it all by standing pat and rolled the dice. I agree that Shaq, *warning - huge caveat*, if healthy, could work out great. Think of Magic's Lakers. They'd run when they could and when they couldn't they worked their half-court sets through Kareem. The other question mark is how much of a factor can Shaq still be on the defensive end.

It will be interesting to see if losing Marion affects their running game. On the other hand, they still have Steve Nash. I'd guess he can make it go with the guys still left.

I just don't see how this will work out for the Suns.  Shaq is still the diesel, but he's not the same Shaq from a couple of years ago imo.
