Black: Pro Hillary (?)

I just talked to a pro-Hillary Black guy, older than me in his 60's. I also talked to a young barely able to vote Black pro-Hillary girl on Friday. They both had the same theme though: "You're only voting for Obama because he's Black."

I just fully realizing this now, almost too late to do any good in the Pennsylvania primary. Still though it is a "logic" that must be addressed before the general election.

In the same conversation I had with the old guy in his 60's a Pro-Obama guy made a statement that I had never heard before that blew my socks off:

"White people is tired of White people sh*t"

Is this statement Pro-Hillary, Anti-Obama or Anti-Black?

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Alan Keyes all ran for president before. Did Black people vote for them in these margins during the primary? Not hardly.

Bill Clinton and Al Gore also ran for president (obviously) and pulled in the same margins of the Black vote that Obama is right now.

The argument does not hold water. If you want to call it anti-Black, feel free. I call it short-sighted and stereotypical... especially seeing that most of the platforms between the two candidates are the same.

How bout this then: SHE IS NOT ELECTABLE.

Hillary is about as sympathetic as Georgia chaingang guard. If she by some miracle snaches away the nomination from Obama virtually no Black person's going to vote for her after that.

The poor white males and older Hispanics who are in her corner NOW are mainly there 'cause Hillary's white. With Obama out of the way they'll probably vote McCain or stay they ass home.

She'll get the women and that portion of the left that she hasn't alienated in this primary. That's it.

Now how is that a winning coalition?

2004 would of been a strategic time for Hillary to run. Against an unpopular President and a Democrat field that was barely better than "none of the above" especially after Dean blew it in Iowa.

Had Senator Clinton ran in 2004, she would've gotten the Presidency. 

Easily.

IMO, I think she took it for granted that she'd get the seat in 2008 with little to no opposition. 

Today her campaign is fighting a real war of attrition.

If she had decided to run, she might have felt that only being a Senator for 2 years was too soon for her.  Not running in 2004 might mean she wasn't ready for that or any number of things.  Saying she didn't have guts for choosing not to run in 2004 is a stretch.

i feel what both of you are saying.
she wanted to be able to say "that she had some experience under her belt" before she jumped in. she didnt want the repubs to get her on that one.
but she definitely would have dethroned bush. i woulda voted for her with pride.
now...not so much.
i am no longer impressed by the clintons.

i wonder what lie or underhanded tactic she'll come up with next.
at this rate, there's NO WAY she can even think about being the VP.

In 2000 Hillary ran against Rick Laszo(who?) for state Senate and won  by 55 to 43 percent. So she beat a nobody.

In 06' she ran against Jeanne Pirro for the Democratic nod. Ms. Pirro dropped of the race. She then ran against and beat John Spencer(who?), Republican to be re-elected.

Remember Guliani DIDNT RUN in '00. Between the prostate cancer and the divorce scandal, he took a low profile.

She's a non-native New Yorker who ran in to fill Moynihan's vacant seat. She has only beaten a collection of nobodys to keep and hold that seat.   

This is the first real race she has ever been in.
