Storm's New Mini-Series: "Storm - Worlds Apart"
« on: June 30, 2008, 12:30:39 pm »
Queen Ororo has a new mini series coming out written by Christopher Yost who did some solid work on New XMen and Emporer Vulcan (some of the guest stars will be Black Panther, Cyclops and Nezhno).  Also, Queen Ororo will deal with the fallout from Kitty Pryde's "demise" in Astonishing.

i like Yost too.I became aware of him on New X...and this IS good news for Storm and her fans!

It's not officially good news for Storm fans until Rutog says so,though...

where IS Rutog anyway? And sinjection? And Yaw and Daoud and Jenn and our extra sexy Captain Marvelite (she knows who she is)
and our other HEF OG's whom I haven't seen in awhile?

reggie is brewing up somethin' big... that's why he handed the skrull arc away...hehehehe...

let's spread the t'chall/ororo wealth for a minute... let them be seen any and EVERYWHERE...then when they come back home to reggie reg, we have new family members stickin' around.

Warren Ellis already revealed that he plans to incorporate BP & Storm's marriage into Astonishing (and he wrote a solid version of her in the mini he executed years ago).  Yost did a good job on Emporer Vulcan and provided solid characterization (he made a boring plotline dynamic)....his take on Queen Ororo should be nothing short of solid.  Glad they have someone doing this story who actually likes Storm.

I'm glad to see Storm getting her due.  Yost is pretty solid, IMO.   Maybe we'll see more of her in the future and she can throw off the yoke of X one day.  Not saying totally disown her from the X-Verse, but make her her own heroine.  The did it with Wolvie...why not Ororo?

I'm looking forward to this. Its a story that needs to be done and they owe Storm a mini after that Dickey fiasco. I also like the Dora's getting some needed love. I like the avenues of expansion to the Panther book as well. We can have joint Panther-Storm stories. Solo stories. Multi-continent storylines. RH could have SL's of Panther in Africa and Storm in America concurrently. Its all good.

Im hoping that sales turn out strong enough to cause it to become a permanent book.
With these choices, I felt that the American black man only needed to choose which one to get eaten by; the liberal fox or the conservative wolf because both of them will eat him.

Hi Mr. Yardin,

I was hoping that Marvel would have chosen you to draw the entire mini-series, not just a cover of one of the issues. I really enjoyed your rendition of Storm in several issues of Hudlin's run of the Black Panther comic, as well as the "Storm" mini-series written by Eric Jerome Dickey.
