Great interview Redjack! (Geoff) I had to laugh that the interviewer spelled out prose in the introduction.. (writing for Rookies .. who can’t spell! LOL)  :D

Sword of Damocles Great title!! Greek mythology eh! Cool! I had no idea you penned a Titan novel, I read Taking Wing  by .Martin a couple of years ago which I enjoyed but didn’t read the next novel, Red Kingdom? Or something? sorry I don’t remember. Anyway I guess since I know one of the authors (even if it’s only a cyber friend) I’m going to have to goat read more of the series. Is your novel the 3rd book in the series?

Hold on, I’ll go goggle it and find out for myself.. eh!  LOL.

OK Cool the forth and it’s The Red King not kingdom, then Orion’s Hounds before Sword of Damocles, Man I have some catching up to do with being a Trekkie!

I like the continuation of Roddenberry’s universe, The first book was a fun read.. Only (and no I’m not playing the critic or anything) but I wished it would have been Worf and not Riker.. To me Worf is just a more interesting character. At any rate. Again Great interview and congrats.

The Titan books are big fun and, something I told Brandon when the mic was off, I make a point to focus on the black characters that have been created in Star Trek over the years. In the case of Titan and a short story I wrote in an anthology called Prophecy & Change, I introduced a planet of beings who look like gold versions of Angela Basset from STRANGE DAYS.

It should amuse some people here to know that I was asked by the publishers to write something about the friction between Science and Faith for this book. And you'll be more surprised how I executed it.

I knew Brandon was going to do this podcast thing before he put it up and I think it's something that is long overdue. He's right about the lack of support and the basic hostility people "like us" often face in our community and, though it's lessened (I hope) in recent years, it's still present.

Everybody who meets me will tell you I like to laugh more than I like to fight (and I do swear too much) but, about this kind of stuff, I'm dead serious.

Brandon is a great guy and his heart is in the right place. Plus he knows what the hell he's talking about. I urge everybody who wants to write or just wants to know what goes into it to support the podcast and spread the word about it.

It immediately picks up right after the last episode of DS9 that ends the series. So if anyone wanted to know whatever happened to Capt. Sisko when the series ended,  this is the story that explains it.

I can't recommend the entire DS9 relaunch highly enough. If you're a fan of the series and want to follow REALLY WELL WRITTEN further adventures of the crew (plus new people), you can't go wrong.

Redjack.... great interview.  I listened to the entire 60 mins of the podcast.  It's more than an interview; it's a conversation with two Black writers who have a true love and talent for writing.

When you meet Geoff in person, he is correct..... he laughs a lot and during our first encounter LY when I walked up to the booth he was cracking up during a conversation with others.   :D
