Oh well, maybe we'll get a Tales of the Black Freighter series on a premium channel.
That's meant to be released as a DVD same day as the movie's out, apparently.

I've been rereading Watchmen lately, and I do think it would have to be heavily altered to work in a movie. Moore really exploited comics' ability to show 2 things from different times and places happening at once. For one thing, the chapter told from Dr. Manhattan's POV would be almost impossible to do.

Still, I prefer to hope for the best, even if I'm expecting maybe not the worst, but a disappointment.

"Children, if you are tired, keep going; if you are hungry, keep going; if you want to taste freedom, keep going."

For once Malin Akerman appeals to me.
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

For the first 10 minutes of the Heartbreak Kid, she was my perfect woman...then she went crazy.

The Watchman had No black superheroes.

In one of the meeting of The watchman team, on their board-of-problems,  one of the topics is "Black Unrest".

There is however 3 black characters with minor roles.

1. The kid who is reading a comic that paralells a story point, is black.  He doesn't speak much.

2. The prison psychiatrist that interviews Rorshach.

3. Said doctor's wife.

There are images from the movie of the young man reading the comic available on the net.

The power structure is very conservative in the Watchman Universe.  US won Vietnam.  Nixon wasn't impeached!  And that power stucture is white.

Excelsior!

She didn't redeem herself in "27 Dresses".  :P Ugh.

Here's a pretty cool Watchmen/Heroes mash up.  Worth taking a look at!
