MTV says NO!
« on: August 18, 2008, 06:58:57 AM »
My friend gave me a movie to watch the other day that I had never heard of.  The plot was a teenager with muscular dystrophy took a cross country road trip to try to get his wheelchair pimped on MTV's Pimp My Ride.  The movie ended up being a lot better than I thought.  The boy friends took him to the beach for the first time, on a hot air balloon ride, and changed the way I will think about eating wasabi forever (the funniest part of a movie I have seen in a while).  When they got out to California, however, MTV turned the boy and his friends down (another reason to hate MTV).  Although dismayed, they returned to their hometown where there was a suprise PIMPED out wheelchair waiting for the boy.  It had spinners, speakers, a tv, it was amazing!  Darius Goes West is the name of the movie. I would post a link but I do not want to get kicked off of this forum.

Post it up.  Links are a backbone of this Forum. And I'm pretty sure Big Brother SAM, ALMIGHTY! won't boot you.

Movie sounds intriguing.  I'd check it.

And MTV hasn't been the ish since the 80's. :P

I'm good, i think links are preferred as opposed to quoting a source and not giving credit where credit is due.

But word. f*ck MTV...  :)

Questionable.  I just dont know why they are even called Music Television anymore.  There is so much garbage on there.

pretty much. Help me know a lot of bands in the '80's like EPMD, K Solo, Def Jeff, Gangstarr, they gave a lot of play to a lot of artists who wouldn't even be touched today.

Right on to the real and death to the fakers!  Peace out!

Exactly. before I got cable TV in the early 90's the only hip-hop albums I had were Mc Hammer (shut up! I was young and didn't know any better). Within a week or 2 of getting MTV, I had Apocalypse '91- The Enemy Strikes Black and never looked back.

Yo MTV raps was so good back in the day it gives MTV a pass for the none music programming it has today. I ain't mad at MTV, BET or VH1 the all music video channels each one of the networks show are better then the home network.
