In reference to the character (The Black Panther) it is a compliment to his manhood to have a wife/partner who is his equal in many ways and still be "the man"...it shows he is a brotha on a higher level of consciousness who understands the balance between men and women. In reality this shows that manhood is much broader than what some define as far as brain, tactics, leadership and education. President Obama and his first lady provide another example of a couple who are equals in many ways but still have distinct roles and responsibilities ....balance.
