I think it's good that there's a special acknowledgement of women in hip-hop.. of course, it's kind of bittersweet as of 2008, when there's a lack of straight-up female rappers, let alone female rap groups, prominent on the radio/charts.. yeh-yeh, Jeanie Grae holds it down for the underground, Lauryn Hill is.. 'out there' somwhere, etc. but several 90's women are just recently getting out from jail or currently on lockdown- foxy brown, remy ma, da brat.. Lil Kim's semi-vanished..
