What song forces you to the dance floor?
« on: December 26, 2008, 08:11:05 pm »
We have all had our club days. Mine unfortunately have appeared to pass me by.  When I was "up in the club" though  there was always a jam that would make everyone run to the dance floor, but they would often pass.  Some songs though just make you get up no matter what.  What songs do it for you?

Mine:

Outstanding by the gap band.

Atomic Dog by George Clinton.

The way you move by Outkast. (that song should have been a half hour long!)

There are others but I want to hear from you.
I ventured into the courtyard followed by 52 brothers bruised battered and scarred but hard.

FLASH LIGHT was the first of a long line of "must jams".  I was at a Christmas party and "Single Ladies" came on and I had to get out there.

Thinking back to my one-two steps days I have some gems but I'm going to break my choices in 3 levels:

Ol Skool:  Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Feat. Theodore Pendergrass  "Bad Luck"  12"inch Ext version

Hip Hop:  (Tie) Slick Rick "Children Stories" & Heavy D's "We Got Our Own Thang" (Both r club BANGGERS)

House Music:  If you are born and/or raised in CHI House Music will have you dancing all night long

Next post......................

LL cool jay "jingling baby".

I'm forced to do the robot anytime "PLanet Rock" or "white lines" is ever played, anywhere.

As far as dances go I'm confined to the "kid and play" or the robot...  :P

da butt.  Word.  My DJ ex-roomate actually played that at our wedding reception, and yes, most people at the wedding (even the caucasians) were doing "the butt"...

And most of what's already been mentioned.
