You'd be amazed at how hardcore a lot of these gamers are, especially the RPGers, y'know the ones that create a character from scratch and play that character to its limits. I know of a couple that had gotten married from one these MMOs, so for them, online gaming is a way of life.

I play a MMO as well and have a total of 6 characters. This is the one I play it is called Dungeon Fighter
Online It is like playing Streets Of Rage


The max lvl is 70 and among the 6 characters since launch 3 years ago only one is "close" to 70. I just can't be into a game like that. Good thing i'm not in college

Oh BTW i've checked out this "free to play" for EQ 2. Well it is but at the same time it is not. If you want the "basics" then yes it is free to play. But if you want addl content then you pay a "one time fee" for an silver account. But of course if you want "all of it" then you have to still do the subscription fee. There is no way Sony would flat out have this game completely free.

EQ 2 has been free for a bit now.  EQ 1 will go free in March 2012 and it has about the same "free" service.
