That's a good question.  A lot of jobs out there as dangerous or more so that pay a fraction of that.   :(   Its a chance I take when signing that dotted line.  Just like in Junior High, High School and College.  They are dangerous too but I still played...for free.   ;D

The point I'm making is that Mr. Le'Veon Bell feels that his freedoms are restricted playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He wasn't allowed to play video games (which is normal).

He wasn't allowed to create music (which is normal).

He has expressed that the owners made him feel as if they wanted a mindless football-playing automaton.

However, playing for the Jets, his freedoms are realized.

Besides, 14 million doesn't pay like it used to nowadays.

True that Battle, completely know what you're getting at.

Not to instigate anything but I just wanna make this quick point.  This guy below gets it... literally.

A 14 million dollar contract ain't gonna motivate players to stay in the game.

104 million?   O.K.  that pay rate keeps the jersey & cleats on...
---but I'm still listening.  :)

Would you play for 10 years at that pay scale?

Only if you play a Blizzard  game!    ;D

It's funny you should mention that!  :)

As much as I cannot stand what Blizzard Entertainment has become, as I was with them at the very beginning of their meteoric ascent, picked up Diablo III: Reaper of Souls (Ultimate Evil Edition) for the PS3.

I'm a collector of games. I have played the original Diablo, the retail version of Diablo: Hellfire, the unofficial expansion pack, Diablo II: Lord of Terror and its expansion pack.

Just couldn't leave the 3rd in the series hanging out there and I like the idea that the player can now select both genders plus the Witch Doctor class reminds me of a Wakandan warrior.

If that character class was not included, I would've passed on the title completely.

Anyway...  gettin' back to that 105 million dollar deal, if it were me, I'd keep a timeline of 5 years up to 10 meaning plan to play for as long as you don't get injured.

At the slightest sign of a 'pile on in the field' retire immediately. ;)

Blizzard Entertainment bribes female employees to track their sex, pregnancy, and moods
by Justin Olivetti

Big Brother was so 1984. Now in 2019, it’s all about Big Blizzard.

Read this report over at Games Industry based on a new WAPO article and tell us if it doesn’t set off all kinds of alarms in your head.

It turns out that Activision Blizzard is in the business of being as intrusive as possible in its employee’s lives for the purpose of keeping health costs down and increasing productivity.

The company — and we are not making this up — bribes its female employees with gift cards to install and use Ovia, an app that tracks their reproductive activity.

And yes, this includes when they have sex, details about their pregnancy, moods, and even “the appearance of their cervical fluid.”

The company then pays Ovia for “anonymized, aggregated” data covering users under its roof.

This is only part of an ongoing trend of ways that Activision Blizzard is attempting to track the health of its employees.

But Activision Blizzard VP of Global Benefits Milt Ezzard says that everyone’s cool with it:

“Each time we introduced something, there was a bit of an outcry:

‘You’re prying into our lives.’ But we slowly increased the sensitivity of stuff, and eventually people understood it’s all voluntary, there’s no gun to your head, and we’re going to reward you if you choose to do it.”

Truly, Ezzard is a font of genuine concern… for the bottom line:

“I want them to have a healthy baby because it’s great for our business experience. Rather than having a baby who’s in the neonatal ICU, where she’s not able to focus much on work.”

Of course, employees who engage in this program have another issue to consider, which is the possibility that their information might get hacked from Ovia or sold without permission — something that occurred with similar apps Flo and Glow over the past year.

Blizzard is all f_____ed up.

That's not the same company way back in '94.  They went franchise on everybody.
I don't believe none of the founding members are still there anymore.

They're like... McDonalds.    Y'know... 5 billion served daily. :-\
