Also gonna say #1 of Green Lantern: Mosaic.

By far the best first issue I've ever read.

that comic confused me deeply..  was it in the first issue, that there was some crazy female alien (or two) who hacked up John with a knife/axe, leaving him all bloody.. then he just shrugs it off, like "oh, that's just (whoever they are)".. I wanted to be into it, but with the acid-trip aliens and seemingly oddball premise..  ::)

Answering via cell in the car, so I can't give you the precise issue. The one issue I remember years later that still blows me away... Uncanny X-Men, Psylocke vs Sabretooth round two.

I have no clue why. I'm not a fan of Lobell's writing, but when I read that one, it just hit me in the gut. That issue alone made Sabretooth one of my all-time favorite villains.

I was thinking the first time she kicked Saber's ass, what was that like 212, 213?

Believe it or not... I've only seen a couple pages of that issue. I don't have it! People I know that have seen it rave about it.

Thanks, Jesse!

Amazing Spider-Man #532-538. Civil War tie-in. I was having a blast reading that.
With these choices, I felt that the American black man only needed to choose which one to get eaten by; the liberal fox or the conservative wolf because both of them will eat him.

Secret Wars #1-12... All my favorites except T'challa but wouldn't mind a reboot with Black Panther leading the heroes!
