i don't have a problem with Shuri, either.
my only issue was that issue 3 was a setup issue.
that's it.
it wasn't bad...it was just a set up issue.

it's like watchin' 24 and jack bauer does more talkin' than killin'...setup episode. they are necessary, but they dont always get my blood flowin'...ya dig?

I wonder if some of this dragging feel, is because marvel wants 6 part stories and sometimes 3 parter, or even 2 parters are sometimes better.

That could be the case.  Whether it is or not I just hope that issue 4 pick up the pace (alot) and stop beating around the bush.  Let Shuri have a real challenge.  I just didn't feel any adrenalin for her little rock climbing and panther dodging gig.  I just didn't feel anything for that part of the story.  I'm sure her role will improve as soon as she gets a real challenge in Morlun but right now she does nothing for me.

While I hate waiting six months for one story six part arcs aren't that bad if they are offset by shorter ones in between.   1, 2, or 3 issue stories are nice and rewarding to a reader after a long drawn out arc.

Yeah, I think that maybe Marvel should consider having two or three different arcs in a trade paperback, instead of just one arc that is stretched to five or six issues just to make it fit for a trade.

If someone doesn't like one arc in a trade, they might like the second or third arc, instead of perhaps skipping an entire trade paperback because it has just one really long arc that a person might not care about.

And I don't have a problem with Shuri, but I just wish that the focus of the book would hurry up and get back to the King and Queen (I know that may not happen until this whole Dark Reign event is over).

I'm just anxious to see T'Challa back as the Black Panther and King, and I'm anxious to see how he and Storm interact with each other alone. I can't remember the last time they were ALONE, free to talk to each other and show how much they care about each other. I would like to see them discussing really important stuff with each other.

I just wonder how Shuri can beat Morlun.  In the original storyline, Spidey had to irradiate his body even more than normal to poison this being.  Nothing else he did worked.

Physical skills; T'challa and Cap skills wouldn't beat Morlum.  It is going to take serious ingenuity to win.

Yeah I agree with you here especially the highlighted part. The fact that people are more interested in the royal couple than Shuri (even though we like her) doesn't bode well for the relaunch.  What that says to me is that if T'Challa and Ororo don't continue to play a major role in the series then few people will be interested in the relaunch.  In order for this to truly work fans (old and new) must be drawn to the new BP and have a vested interest in her character.  Right now I don't think that has happened.  I believe most people tuned in to find out who would be the new BP and exactly how and by whom T'Challa was sidelined and Ororo's role in Wakanda in light of her husband's condition.  Now that all of that has been revealed more or less what will keep the sale numbers high?

I definitely would like to see more interaction between T'Challa and Ororo as a married couple.  The Storm mini, the Skrull and Killmonger arcs did little in this regard.  There are such huge gaps between and among those stories that a freighter could fit in them.

That's true but will that undermine Shuri and the confidence that she needs to have in herself as well as the confidence that the people need to have in her?

I also wonder who will watch over Storm's body while her spirit is in limbo.  Will the Queen Mother stay with her?  I hope so because that sorcerer seems a little sleazy to me.  I'm just saying.  I doubt he's seen a beautiful woman in a LOOONG time.  Who in the hell would visit him in that death of a cave he calls a home. :)

God, yes. This. THANK YOU. Aren't these two married? And yet, we've seen very little of their interaction as husband and wife. And now the Black Panther is taken out of his own book? Just one more reason to keep them apart. I'm giving this book one more arc before I drop it and pick it back up again later on down the line, like I did with the last one. Shuri as BP? T'Challa in limbo? Storm doing something crazy to get him back? Who gives a sh*t?

Just a note. I like where the comic is going. But Jenn and Niki have very vaild points. Don't write them off, because a lot of fans are thinking the same thing. The comic is selling because it has been pretty good, and folks want to give Mr. Reggie and Mr. Ken a chance.

But Jenn/Niki points are vaild. There are a lot of folks that LOVE T'challa, and new readers after SI arc that wanted to see him. They are also buying the comic, because they want to see T'challa. That is very vaild.

He did have that sleazy look about him especially when Ororo was removing her robe.He may want her to fail to get T'Challa back so he can gain something out of it.I loved how determined Storm is to get her husband and that T'Challa is finally snapping out of his daze, and I hope that he will fight just as hard to return to his wife as she definitely will, but I figure that it won't be easy for both of them.Great job,a month is soooo long to wait for the next chapter.

My issue came today and it was good but like as has been said, it was a setup issue. Not going one hundred MPH like the first two.  I can say this right off the bat: As much as I love Shuri (and I do) I don't love her enough to want to follow her while T'Challa and Ororo slip into the background. It was like enough with her already , whats going on with the T & O. But I do enjoy Shuri . Amazingly this book went from a sparsity of good characters to quite a few. Don't forget the urbane Mr S'yan I really like him. And there has to be new Dora's at some point. Queen Justice and Malice? I do love the multiple intersecting plotlines. The art was good as usual (isn't that nice to say!) And I liked hearing about "the old ways". Love Wakandan mysticism. I can seeing Ororo having to take up the role as mystic of Wakandan perhaps.

P, that would be awesome if she did.

It's a part of her background.
