That would be a cool new role for her to undertake although I doubt that is what RH has in mind.  If she did however become the new mystic would that mean she would have to move out of the palace and into that nasty ass cave? ;)

I could see it, the mystic is ancient and his price might be someone to succeed him. And like Seven said it is in her background.

I wonder if some of this dragging feel, is because marvel wants 6 part stories and sometimes 3 parter, or even 2 parters are sometimes better.

The last relaunch started with a 6-part story. So it's to be expected Reggie would that again.

That my be where Storm comes into play.

That's true but will that undermine Shuri and the confidence that she needs to have in herself as well as the confidence that the people need to have in her?

I also wonder who will watch over Storm's body while her spirit is in limbo.  Will the Queen Mother stay with her?  I hope so because that sorcerer seems a little sleazy to me.  I'm just saying.  I doubt he's seen a beautiful woman in a LOOONG time.  Who in the hell would visit him in that death of a cave he calls a home. :)

Zawavari is seen at the palace in issue #4, so the Queen Mother should be watching over Ororo's body. If she cares so much about her son she would be.

If Shuri can't prove herself worthy of Black Panther, then the promo was just a red-herring. Would Marvel really do that to us?

No man. She can just set up all those gross things next to her bedchamber.  :D

Yeah I agree with you here especially the highlighted part. The fact that people are more interested in the royal couple than Shuri (even though we like her) doesn't bode well for the relaunch.  What that says to me is that if T'Challa and Ororo don't continue to play a major role in the series then few people will be interested in the relaunch.  In order for this to truly work fans (old and new) must be drawn to the new BP and have a vested interest in her character.  Right now I don't think that has happened.  I believe most people tuned in to find out who would be the new BP and exactly how and by whom T'Challa was sidelined and Ororo's role in Wakanda in light of her husband's condition.  Now that all of that has been revealed more or less what will keep the sale numbers high?

I definitely would like to see more interaction between T'Challa and Ororo as a married couple.  The Storm mini, the Skrull and Killmonger arcs did little in this regard.  There are such huge gaps between and among those stories that a freighter could fit in them.
Valid concerns, but remember McDuffie's run on Fantastic Four? Reed and Sue were in every issue that the Royal Couple were, but they still felt like a valid part of the FF, while keeping long-term readers invested in Reed and Sue happy. No reason Reggie can't do that, even if Shuri is a medium or long-term replacement.

That's why you're my dawg. I agree wholeheartedly.
Let Shuri run around in the abbot while T'challa is doing the dang thang with his wife. By doing this, we get to fully explore Wakandan culture and see the wakandan countryside.  Ya dig?

ah.. just got #3 in the mail..

good stuff.. I wonder what the old shaman was whispering to Storm... (and he's over 100 years old? hmm...)

Shuri is learning the ropes pretty decent so far.. I wanted there to be more of a fight with the panthers, though.. next time.. (hope the panther who fell landed on its feet)..

..So, in T'challa's limbo, he is being courted by Death.. hmm... wonder if we'll see some history behind the other Panthers' deaths.. maybe their spirits can advise Shuri..

BP#3 is a ok read.  It was a quick read to me and I felt the actions within this issue did not grab my attention like the past 2 issues.  I re-read it many times and my reaction was....is this it?  Well, I will wait til next month for more.

That was my initial reaction as well. But after re-reading it, it leaves a lot of questions unanswered, but in a good way. I will be disappointed if issue #4 doesn't answer 'em.

One thing that cracks me up is the line that says 'at the other side of Africa'. In Marvel's world it might as well be southern Sudan with that ziggurat/pyramid we see.  :D
