I don't have any real memory of it.. hmm.. it would be nice for it to be put on dvd, though..
so many folks had variety shows back then.. even the Brady Bunch, for a minute.. heh..

in retrospect, It would've been cool if the Jacksons had the Wayans' sensibility when they were doing their show..  ;D

What would be cool to have on DVD is Season 1 of the  Jackson Five cartoon produced by Rankin-Bass and Motown, that's what! :D

Yeh, I loved those guest intros!!  I'll admit the skits weren't all funny, but jeezus look at SNL.... if that can last 30 seasons, we are all owed some Jacksons TV magic (be it animated or live action) :D

Maybe they'll put it on DVD right after they get around to putting Motown 25 on DVD.

Speaking of Motown 25...

Y'know, I was rummaging through some boxes of old video tapes and found the home recording live broadcast of Motown 25th.  When I lived in New York, there was this radio station on the air at that time, call letters WKTU a.k.a  DISCO 92 and that station was doing a simu-cast of the special that evening (you can clearly see the call letters superimposed on the bottom screen) so when Micheal performed 'Billie Jean' on stage you can bump the stereo for added effect.

Perhaps what a lot of people didn't know was that the  Motown 25th show was really about  selling the record company to Universal and what I thought was interesting was when Diana Ross proclaimed at the closing of the show,

"Motown will be here forever."

I just did it on two DVDs for my niece and nephews. All I'll say is...it's out there if you look hard enough.  ;)
