You'll notice that none of the wars/conflicts listed above after WWII were World Wars. There is only one reason why. The reason inevitably leads to the conclusion that ...
Edward Teller, the "Father of the Hydrogen Bomb,"
should have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Edward Teller in 1958 as Director of the
Lawrence Livermore National LaboratoryTeller is best known for his work on the American nuclear program, specifically as a member of the Manhattan Project during World War II, his role in the development of the hydrogen bomb, and his long association with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (which he co-founded and served as a director). He found support from the U.S. government and military research establishment, particularly for his advocacy for nuclear energy development, a strong nuclear arsenal, and a vigorous nuclear testing program.
The only thing that prevented a global conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union and Red China was the existence of massive thermonuclear arsenals and the threat of "mutually assured destruction."
... of course ... with greater proliferation on the horizon ... wedded with extremist radical theological ideologies, all that might change very soon. But it cannot be denied that throughout the 20th Century a devastating global war was averted. In large part because of the existence of the Hydrogen Bomb.
What can I say? I guess I'm just one of those "the glass is half full" (not "half empty") kinda guys.
