Panther God
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:41:37 am »
I wonder will we learn more about Bast and how powerful it is down the rode? I always wanted to know how it stands compared to the other gods and it would be nice to see it throw down sometimes. Also will learn more about the other Wakanda gods sometime as well?

I still quite fathom why the Panther God has white fur, though.

LOL. me too.  I guess she/he does what ever she/wants, because I have seen Bast as a hulking were-Panther, huge white Panther, huge black panther, and then last issue #9 where he was a huge Panther, then man with dreds, then Doom.  :D ;D

Yeah, well in #9 T'Challa was wacked out on magic potion.  Not sure who originally had Bast as white-furred.  We're stuck with it now, unless the Panther God gets a celebrity makeover.

Ever wonder what Kirby's version would look like?  I think it would look like something out of New Gods/Eternals.

My first time seeing Bast as white-furred was in the wedding issue when T'Challa and Ororo were getting approved by her.  That was when the other artist (can't remember his/her name) took over for a couple pages.  I kind of liked it though, because the other god-creatures were also white and it gave this ghostly, supernatural feel to that dimension.

In the Denys Cowen limited mini (1988) Bast was a huge Hulking Panther-man and black. I will post a scan.

Black Panther God

Bast is suppose to be a shape shifter. I think it's hilarious she/he appears as a Huge White Panther, I guess she/he give it's self a celebrity makeover.  ;D

Yes...Bast is supposed to be a shapeshifter.  That will be a factor in a future arc.
