Who is the better comedian, Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle?

While Chappelle threatened to take the crown away from Rock at the height of the CHAPPELLE SHOW he never quite closed the deal.

Rock's social commentary seemed more astute but simplistic in comparison with that of Chappelle.

Dave Chappelle isn't primarily known for his stand up and Chris Rock is. However yesterday they showed a repeat of the true Hollywood Stories with Charlie Murphy and Rick James.

That thing is funny as hell. So was the Tupac from the grave bit. And many others. At worst Chappelle was as funny as Rock.

Chappelle just couldn't sustain it.

Something has to be said for staying power. Rock has it, Chapelle don't.

As a stand-up comedian, it's not really close, is it?
For film, it's a forfeit.
For their TV shows, The Chappelle Show is the evolutionary successor of The Chris Rock Show (and In Living Color). A clear win for Chappelle in that category.

So, it kind of depends on what you mean by comedian.

Dave is a better stand up, half of what Chris does is cuss and make stupid faces. "f*cking" is not  a punchline.
