The original by far wins, Zoe is an average chick to me. She has minimal talent as far as I see but she is the go to black-latina chick to give that token presence in a flick.

I like Zoe well enough. She's the modern day Kerry Washington: pretty (enough), bland, nonthreatening. She may even take Halle's place. But old school Uhura just ooooooozes sex, and that couldn't be easy in 1967. And I love how her skirt is THAT short for no reason whatsoever.

Zoe has the key ingredient that enables her to pull off the role - a inherent classiness that defined the role. 

But c'mon, it's an unfair comparison.  The original was a soul sister with natural elegance...in outer space.

You'd be amazed at how many younguns don't get it. Some of my male students think Nichelle looks "old" and "fat" compared to Zoe. I think the word they were looking for was "black".

I love and respect Nichelle...she was a beauty, no doubt.  But boy do I love Zoe...she's even hot as an alien.

Nichelle Nichols is an adult fertility queen and Zoe is an attractive girl next door.

Both are attractive, but I like Nichelle by far.

It would have been great to see her more active in the original series. Hopefully we will see a more active Zoe in the future.

Nichelle all day. Rolewise, I think Zoe has a chance to put her stamp on the character-if the writers actually let her do more next time-but Nichelle's Uhura was the originator and Zoe has yet to fill out her miniskirt.
