Multipart stories are good, but they need to be intermixed with single part stories.  Of course that can mean returning to most pages having 9 panels and splash pages reserved for the "punch" instead of a book of splashes/near splashes month in and mouth out.

You know, trades aren't selling like hotcakes because people aren't picking up the single issues. However, what if you changed the format to something like Manga which seems ... more cost effective? It takes about an hour or so to read. I feel that you get more of your moneies worth with that style.

Plus, the japanese manga stories have a way of bring in the female audience that Marvel wants to pull over with Girl Comics.

I mean this is obviously what girl comics is for.

To market to an untap audience. Which is why marvel did that mangaverse a few years back.

Yeah, but if you want to sell to a new audience, you need to sell in more places than the LCS.

I looked through this today and I wasn't impressed at all. It had one flimsy lookin picture of Storm and thats it, and it had some other stories involving some other Marvel women and I still wasn't impressed with the other writers stories or art. I will definitely pass on issue one. Lets see how #2 fares.

Exactly right. You know Archie Comics are sold in grocery stores and I hear they have the highest seller ship (Don't ask me where I heard ... might not be reliable because I can't remember where) but it makes sense.

I remember when I was younger they were just there and I picked them up every now and then.
However with the others you have to go to the LCBS!

As for the 1st issue being 'meh'. I would have to agree.

Also trades in almost every book store. Not to the same level as Manga I think. But you can find them in any book store.

Indeed!
In my area, there used to be a Black-interest bookstore chain called Karibu that had a section set aside for Black Panther, Boondocks and other comics (Trades/Graphic Novels) featuring Black folk. If I had a Graphic Novel or trade coming out, black bookstore is were I would hit up first.

I miss Karibu. Damn shame they're gone.

I don't think so but I hear Dr. Octopus makes an appearance.

Its. The only way to get a frikkin story.  Its like a writer can't tell a story in 1 book.  I miss my Savage Sword of Conan Days.

I think it's really hard to tell a story in 36 pages! The art is suppose to say a thousand words but most artist just don't do that. Not in comics anyway. Especially, when I bet you have an editor that's telling writers to drag out a story to get more of your money.

Really...?

A really good comicbook team can tell a good story in 1 issue.
A really, really good comicbook team can tell a good story in 2 pages.

---but an expert comicbook team can tell a damn good story in 3-4 panels.

Just open a daily newspaper and browse the comics page.

Comics are comics, aren't they?
