THE GREEN ZONE
« on: March 14, 2010, 07:30:13 am »
It's not a Bourne movie, but it stars Matt Damon and is directed by Paul Greengrass, who did the last two Bourne movies (and UNITED 93 and SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY) so why wouldn't you go see it?

The action is good, but not a fantastical as Bourne...more real world.  The politics are more explicit...now THIS is a film about Iraq that is unapologetic in revealing what a clusterf*ck the whole situation is.

This movie was my pick for a double date with my wife and another couple, and I pleased everyone.  I would highly reccomend it.

Great movie. Matt Damon would make a great Steve Rogers.

He IS Captain America and I feel sorry for anyone else trying to play the role.

You should suggest it. I don't see how they could pick ANYONE else.

I don't think they are in the market to pay those kinds of prices.

I saw Green Zone last week and when I got home, I told my wife that Damon was "Bourne" to play Captain America.  heheehe   Seriously, though...I can't think of a better actor to play Steve Rogers.

Doesn't Marvel want a NINE PICTURE DEAL (3 Cap movies + 3 Avenger Movies + 3 Cameos) at about 300k? No way Damon would do that unless he doesn't plan on making movies for about a decade.

Actually, I heard they were going after Chris Evans.  They already cast Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull.

I really enjoyed the Green Zone.  Well written and acted, but I'm beginning to think that Paul Greengrass is stylistically a one-note director.

the film has hit the discount-theater circuit, i saw it this weekend.. i wasn't sure of what to expect, but wow, it was very good.. I was unclear though, on just what Greg Kinnear's role was.. was he State Department?  Homeland Security?

...So that hotel was turned into a "resort"?  Geez... bombs & gunfire going off a few miles away and these folks are acting like Club Med.. was this for real?

..were any of the Iraqi generals based on real people?

..were the "jerky guys" Miller's crew runs into US military or were they mercs, aka blackwater?
