I would have preferred Scott Eastwood:

I'm fine with this.  I think he'll probably do a good job.

I liked the suggestion of Matt Damon for star power.. But.. well, Mr. Evans is young enough, handsome enough and I guess cheap enough.. I hope Fox ditches their option with the FanFour films, let Marvel Studios reboot that with Disney..

..I wonder if the filmmakers will do some FX to make him look really skinny, pre-serum..
.. will Bucky be seen/involved at all?  Will any Invaders or Howling Commandos be seen..

... I suspect that "The Truth" storyline elements will be completely ignored (perhaps for the best, so Mr. Reggie can do that film  ;)  )

..I want a cool looking outfit.. and it had better not be 'delayed' until the 3rd act..  >:(

..side note-- I wonder if/when that 1990 epic fail will get released on dvd..

I'm okay with it. I just wonder if he'll do a Brooklyn accent for the role.
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

Don't have a problem with Evans. I think he can handle the action stuff well, but I'm curious to see how his take on the character will be. He was perfect as Johnny Storm, but Steve Rogers is a much different character. I read that Hugo Weaving is in the running for the Red Skull, which would be a really good casting choice if they can get him.

Sorry Hype but The Truth will never get the big screen treatment. I agree though that it will be ignored, but here's hoping that there's a Bradley cameo in the film at least, or a mention, perhaps in passing, of the first round of experiments.

they signed Weaving before they got Evans.  I would have loved to see Matt Damon or even Mark Valley in the role.  That being said, I think Evans will do an OK job.

Seems kinda ridiculous to have the same actor play multiple characters in a universe where all the people in it intersect at one time or another.

Kind of like DC asking Chris Bale to play Superman once he and Chris Nolan are done with Batman ???

I still think Dennis Quaid would be the best Cap.

Maybe Dennis Quaid 20 years ago.  ;D

I have no problem with this.

He and Chlikis saved the FF movies(they'd of been far worse without them).

Him or Channing Tatum (the other choice I heard) is fine with me.

You guys have to remember that 40's Cap is a different animal than the present day Cap. He is going be (for this movie) the young guy that steps up into greatness as opposed to the seasoned leader of men that we are used to seeing.

Pretty much the version of Cap we saw in the 90's Adventures Of Captain America mini.

Which was a great read BTW.

Seems kinda ridiculous to have the same actor play multiple characters in a universe where all the people in it intersect at one time or another.

So far only Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and the Avengers characters(Pym, Wasp and Hawkeye) will be interacting.

Sony's not giving up the Spider Man franchise.

And Fox isn't giving up the X-Men.

I don't know what Fox is gonna do with the FF.

He's a fine actor. Although, as Captain America. I just don't think so. Someone like Johnny Storm, YES! But I really can't picture him as Cap. Am I the only one?

OK...we got Cap and Red Skull out of the way...now it's time they did the right thing and at least put an Isaiah Bradley cameo in there...and make him Snake Doctor himself!!!  Dennis Haysbert!

More confidence in Hugo than in Evans.  This studio is moving from the the idea that has worked--BIG name in the title role.  Evans is not a BIG name.

Neither was Tobey Maguire. Unless you really liked Pleasantville.

And Hugh Jackman was an utter unknown coming from musical theatre(I think).

Weaving will forever have a place in the Geek Pantheon for Agent Smith and Elrond. But V convinced me that he can act effectively behind a mask.

At this point I have more misgivings about the Director than the cast.
