With the new year, I thought I'd bring this back!
In 2009, I was a machine and dropped 70 lbs in 6 months. Felt and looked great. But in July of 2009 I also started meeting more people, getting a social life, and finding my place in DC. Sadly, over the next 2 1/2 years I've put back on all of that weight. It mostly had to do with the drinking and late night eating. My friends are a good six years younger than me and are still in post college mode.
Yesterday I officially got back on track. I've purchased an elliptical for my condo. In 2009, I was using the elliptical for 40 minutes 4-5 times a week and it worked. But that was when I had the gym at work that was free and I could go on my lunch break. These days my problem has been actually paying for the expensive gyms in DC and then actually going to the gym. With the elliptical in my house, I don't have to worry about that.
I'm also back on weight watchers, which really worked great for me last time. But like anything, it only works if you put in the effort and stick to it. Each sensibly. Spoil myself from time to time, but don't make it a regular habit. For the first 6 months of 2009 I did just that and the results were tremendous!
We all reach the point when enough is enough and it's time for a change. That's where I am now and I can't wait to have the days pass by and lose the weight, this time for good.
Is anyone else starting a serious diet for the new year? I'd love to have a Hudlin Weight Loss Team, where we can give each other support and share our stories/ideas.
