THE NEW STANDARD? (Hollywood and Comics)
« on: April 11, 2010, 07:36:57 pm »
It appears as though a beautiful trend is manifesting itself in Hollywood and beyond.......

big name stars joining forces with established comic vets to produce and create quality product.

Kyle Baker partnering with Shaquille Oneal to create a comic/entertainment studio........ Wesley Snipes teaming with director Antoine Fuqua on the new post-apocalyptic comic AFTER DARK..... Wesley Snipes partnering with Mshindo Kuumba on the forthcoming sci-fi cinemagraphic series OMANDI MECH 5...... Tyrese Gibson's comic venture MAYHEM....... Rosario Dawson's comic/film venture OCCULT CRIMES TASK FORCE, being some of the latest and best examples.

I see this as a direct sign that this medium is now fully acknowledged as a viable and respected vehicle to tell stories and to generate mega-bucks in today's marketplace.

Exciting times to be a creator........ exciting times.

The fact that most cartoon characters in America are owned by two companies (Disney and Warners) makes it a great time to be a creator.  If KICK ASS performs this weekend, it will be even better.
