While I may read the first one or two issues of Eve Ewing's Black Panther, it is done with no expectations and thus the absence of disappointment. The writing is on the wall. If Redjack with his pedigree and resume can't get an invite to write an ongoing Black Panther series then the A.G.E.N.D.A. remains in full effect.
And that effect is minimal as is being proven in film and comics that this is T'Challa the Black Panther's franchise. Built for him, by him and despite efforts to the contrary supportive of him. All efforts to degrade the T'Challa merely reflect poorly on the writers, artist, editors, producers and director.
Given Lee, Gillis, Priest, Hudlin, McDuffie, Liss, Aaron (on a good day) vs McGregor, Kirby, Maberry, Aaron (on a bad day), Hickman, Coates, Gay and Ridley, its about time for T'Challa the Black Panther to get a good storyteller. Maybe concurrent with or after Eve Ewing, Redjack will get that call.

As much as I fervently wish the same things for T'Challa as do you...I know that IF. BIIIG IF. Redjack gets a whiff of BP's main book? It'll be after the A.G.E.N.D.A. has run its course. After Coogler is no longer directing the BP franchise. After T'Challa Toussaint is established as THEE T'Challa, and one of The Black Panthers. Nightwing to Shuri's Batman. He will be PRINCE T'Challa.
With a truly competent writer who grasps and respects who T'Challa is? Exploring PRINCE T'CHALLA is a THRILLING opportunity. We MAY even get a look into how formidable T'Challa is WITHOUT his Black Panther powers...and that T'Challa is incredibly formidable, indeed. Without the HSH. Without Bast. T'Challa is still T'Challa, and he'll still beat 99% of the non-cosmic capes in the 616. Imo? Liss missed this dazzling opportunity, but I give him props for trying to tread such a path. Takes guts, vision. Creativity. Writing PRINCE T'Challa gives us the opportunity to right the many missteps and wrongs in McGregor's run, while keeping the amazing things he did.
Eve? Won't be that truly competent writer.
Instead. Eve? Will be the Eve of the REAL A.G.E.N.D.A. coming through. Queen Shuri The Black Panther. T'Challa denigrated and out of the picture. Shuri leading Wakanda back to its status as being the premier power on 616 Earth, punishing past and present interlopers. Avenging past wrongs. Shuri, Storm, Monica and Riri uniting in The Sisterhood of Screw T'Challa, Ebony Estrogen Runs This.Gay Ayo will be back, and Monica Riri or Shuri will have a White boyfriend. Or girlfriend. Or both. The problem isn't the gayness, or interracial relationship. The problem is the caustic, toxic, artificial interjection of any and every other dynamic except the positive hetero masculine hardcore ultracompetent unapologetic dominanting Black male in a loving, healthy relationship with his woman who is his complement...and he hers...in every regard.
In a not at all positive echo of the battle rap title of the former First Lady of The Ruff Riders [ and current wife of a White billionaire ] Eve and her title of "The Real Eve/of Destruction" ] the current scribe Eve Ewing is almost certainly the Eve of Destruction for T'Challa and strong Black men.
Let us hope against hope that my and our worries are completely and totally unfounded.
