I live in the upstate area (Spartanburg).

Well, that explains why the book landed in your part of the state than in mine.

In my nearest city there's only 1 comic book shop but there are many retail franchise  book stores (Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, etc.)  that carry monthly and trade paperback I would prefer to browse.
I hate entering comic book stores especially in the South, because that's where the problems lie with distribution.

you should really try an online comic subscription service if you hate going into the comic book stores.  I used them until I moved to my current house.  Try scifigenre.com or mailordercomics.com.  They both have pretty good service and mailordercomics.com gives a pretty nice discount, you just have to order in advance.

I ONLY do subscription or online comic shops. So ALL my stuff is late.

I've heard nothing but good things about this comic, wouldn't it make a sweet DVD? I ordered it btw...

I finally got mine today. Very suspenseful story. It's good to see Cowan work again. It gives a good rough feeling to the WW2 setting.
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

Great job by the entire creative crew! Denys Cowan is on his A game. Telling it from Gabe Jones perspective is a great move on RH's part. I wish that we could get more stories like this fea. BP, Isaiah Bradley, Cage etc.

I want to see more!

Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers #1
by OneStopGeekShop

COVER BY: Denys Cowan
WRITER: Reginald Hudlin
PENCILS: Denys Cowan
INKS: Array

Honestly I thought this was just going to be another "untold story" of Cap vs. the Nazi's who somehow teams up with Black Panther in the middle and they kick Nazi @$$ together!

Boy was I wrong!

Well actually I was kinda right because that will probably roll out to be the bare bones of this story but the writing in this story is phenomenal! Hudlin does a superb job of really emphasizing fan favorite characteristics in each of the classic heroes and villians.

Cap is the genuinely good guy bleeding red, white and blue, Hiltler and the Nazi's are all D-Bags, Fury and his Howling Commandos are rough around the edges trained killers, Baron Strucker is his one eyed diabolical self and Black Panther is the confident martial arts mastering monarch everyone loves.

This is a great story for anyone who picks it up period and the sketchy art by Cowan really does a nice job of complimenting the story.

Looking forward to issue #2,

~Steve

I read it few days ago & I thought it was petty good (I would love to see more minis showing of Syan, Bashenga & etc times as BP ).. But could someone give me a get a confirmation on the who the BP is.. I've read in interview that is supposed to be Azzari the Wise & I think it Azzari but I've also seen  says it T'Chaka...

Also the last page in the unlettered preview for # 2 leads to believe that Azzari is the BP..

So it is Azzari The Wise right?
