i am soooo sorry family!
i forgot to come back to my HEFfa home to update y'all on thangs.
well, i had an audition for One Tree Hill. I went all out...gave my all and i don't feel bad for puttin' a lil extra stank on it. if/when i book this role (wedding dj or bartender), my incredible November of gigs will continue. i'll keep u updated.
as for Meet The Browns, i had a ball!
i had waaaay more fun on this set than on House of Payne. a few crew members remembered me (that's nice) so it wasn't like i was a stranger.
i just felt like the new kid in class.
due to confidentiality clauses & such, i wont go into details about the episode.
just know that I'll be in the season finale.
Plus...i went toe-to-toe with Mr. Brown (aka David Mann aka A comedy machine)
This dude is a comedy beast. he has jokes for days. during our lunch break, an editor (someone who edited my first HOP ep) came up to me to say hi and welcome me and my comedic timing to the set. he says, "David gets everyone to break character when we film, but no one has ever gotten him to break character. whoever does that will be a legend."
Me: Challenge accepted
easier said than done. when it was time to film, i was a nervous wreck. what am i gonna say? am i really gonna go after a dude who can rattle off one-liners like an assault rifle? thanks to our earlier rehearsal, he got me good with a couple one liners so i got the giggles out my system.
when it was showtime, i was a rock! a muthasuckin' wall!
no matter what he tried, i didnt break until the director said CUT!
i tried to throw some thangs at him but being the comedy robot he is ... he just hit me with another zinger and i didn't reply... no mas... i just set there so we could go to commercial.
say what you will about the show, they are all a great bunch of people and big time professionals.
everyone from the actors to the crew showed me some much love.
not only did they love my performance but they gave me loads of kudos for holding my own against "Mr. Brown." They'd never seen an actor do that.
i feel special.
and to top it off, David and his wife Tamala said that they'd be on my radio (The Takeover) to do an interview.
WooHoo!
we're planning on doing a gospel with them as the focus/highlight
that's my time.
see ya when i see ya.
ps: did y'all read that article about me and the ESPN commercial i did?
