Whoo wee Sweet Jesus, what a knockout!  I don't like female boxing, but what an amazing blow!  And the afro-funk victory dance afterward of a sister wearing black and silver while the American flag girl is passed out on the canvas....

The "afro- funk/black and silver...American flag...on the canvas..." part had me CRYIN LAFFIN,lol...

I've known of Lucia Rijker for years, back when Kathie Long didn't ant any part of her ( Kathy was the reigning "most popular" but not the most skilled female kickboxer,a White girl who regularly wrote articles in INSIDE KUNG-FU and BLACK BELT,and went by the name of THE QUEEN OF KICKBOXING.She got a lot of notoriety during the "road rage"  shootings that were going on because some male fool--another White guy--got out of his car yelling and screaming at her and advanced upon her threateningly,AND SHE KNOCKED THIS DUDE OUT WITH ONE PUNCH,according to reports) and I've known of another sista who was bad but whom retired from KB too...she had a nickname like "THE LEOPARD" or something.Sista was BAAD and KO'd somebody foolish who had a big name at the time,I believe it was a White girl.Yeah it was. This is back when kickboxing was looked upon as a very very fringe sport, like I said this was nearly 15-20 years ago,so my memory of the details is kinda sketchy.I remember the sista was clearly newer than her big name opponent (read set up job, typical in kickboxing, they tried to do that to me too but I knocked ole boy's bigger homie out in the gym while sparring so he refused to fight me) and I remember this sista had an INCREDIBLE body, just muscles EVERYWHERE

...I'm pretty sure her name was Fredia Gibbs...

What's wrong with challenging a woman who is better than ALOT of the males in what she's doing?  Obviously he thinks she has what it takes to take him on and make a good fight out of it

Sure.  All he has to do is get down to her weight class.

Obviously Mike doesn't give a damn about weight classes. He even challenged  Sapp once

Whatup Ammar.Ummm...did you know that Mike and Sapp simply talked smack to one another on K-1,I think there MIGHT have been a shove or so...but Iron Mike clearly hasn't wanted any part of Sapp or pretty much anybody else from K-1 (maybe Butterbean, lol,MAYBE) and that's why he doesn't step in the ring.I didn't see Iron Mike actually make this statement wherein he allegedly wanted to fight our "Lady Mike Tyson",but I'm not yet convinced he was serious.Does someone have videotape of him actually making the challenge? No? Yes? I hope so,at least for the sake of those who actually deem this to be a sincere desire on Iron Mike's part.I,personally, don't think it's a serious event or issue. If anybody gave this even scant moments of thought,I should think that a match between Mike and this femme fatal would be redolent of "stupidly degrading mismatch" and "publicity stunt" top to bottom.

And there isn't a woman on the planet who can stand up to Iron Mike.We already know that.Just like you won't find a guy who's gonna show the Olympic women's gymnastic team of say China or the USA or Romania or Belarussia or Japan, etc. a thing or ten on the balance beam. We're not built like THAT on the balance beam.Sure,we men would be quite quite good at the balance beam, and better than quite a few women whom are athletes but not necessarily balance beam specialists...but it's one thing to be amongst the upper echelon of beam practitioners,it's quite another to face the most elite of the elite on THEIR TERMS. Custer had a better chance against the Native Americans.

His opponent might care.  It wouldn't be fair to ask her to fight out of her weight class.  So, unless he's willing to drop down to around 165, he's just talking smack.

Certainly it won't help women's boxing any. I'm not a fan of intergender fighting at all. It's really not fair. If a man wins, it's because he was supposed to. If he loses, it's because he's a punk. Not to mention that the truth of the matter is that the number of women that can go toe to toe and blow to blow with a man - even of a smaller size - is very, very small. Saying this doesn't take away from female fighters - it's simply the truth. We're built completely differently! I consider myself to be very in shape, but how else can you explain why some random, fat slob on the street could probably bench more than I can? How else can you explain why a recent bench pressing contest had the top female presser benching 130? I knew guys who benched more than that in JUNIOR HIGH, okay? Let's not get stupid here. How many women would have to be hurt just to find the one or two that can? It's a ridiculous notion. Let the women fight each other and making women's boxing NOT a pathetic, catfighting joke. Then we can talk about fighting with men.
