First copies of Griots were ordered today. They should be here before Onyx Con, especially since I paid out the ass to make sure they would be. Pre-orders are coming in as well. Thanks to everyone for following the progress of this project. Sword and Soul Forever!

Well, the Griots launch is off to a great start! We sold 16 copies at Onyx Con (out of 22 total books sold). Since our initial release we've sold 35 books direct and at least 10 through distribution. This is good considering we had no preliminary reviews. Speaking of reviews, they are trickling in and so far they are very positive. Expect a few detailed reviews from some prominent fiction writers within the next couple of months. I'm making a 'guest' appearance at Dragon Con this weekend at the Terminus Media (http://www.terminusmedia.com/) booth for a few hours before speeding over to the nearby Decatur Book Festival for a panel on black speculative fiction. It's on and going well. Thanks!

..and here's what Steve Barnes had to say about Griots.

"Stories of rage and revenge, of madness and magic, of love, hate, and sacrifice..the world of myth is the map of a people's secret heart. GRIOTS offers an intense buffet, ragingly poetic glimpses of a landscape ignored by both contemporary and classic fantasy. I dare you to read it and not regret there haven't been a thousand more of its kind."

Ordered mine off the site last week. Can wait to read it!

Steven Barnes is the bomb!!! Loin's Blood and Zulu Heart were great. I'm hoping for a Part 3. His wife Tananarive Due is an awesome writer as well (My Soul to Keep).

Thanks for the order, bruh. I enjoyed Lion's Blood and Zulu Heart as well. Can't wait for book three. We invited him to submit a story for Griots but his schedule wouldn't allow it. I hope he and Tananarive will submit something for Griots II. That would be awesome!

Okay, back to Griots. For those who are electronically inclined, Griots is now available on Kindle:

http://www.amazon.com/Griots-Sword-Soul-Anthology-ebook/dp/B005V555TA/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1318855281&sr=1-1

Be forewarned, the images are currently not available with the Kindle version. I'm trying to figure out how to include them. Thanks in advance.

I really dug this book, I wish that there are more continuations to the tales told. I will certainly cop any others produced!

Thanks, Paul. I know Melvin Carter is working on a Sumunguru novel and I'm trying to convince Mr. Clark to write a 'Skin Magic' novel. A quick heads up; there will be a Griots II and a Griots III.

Yeah, Skin Magic and Sunmunguru were tight. You can tell Mr. Clark that Imaro threatens him bodily harm if the doesn't complete the saga! Looking forward to Parts 2 & 3, for anyone on the fence about picking them up, don't hesitate its worth it!!!!!
