*Sundance Institute’s Creative Producing Fellowship:
The Sundance Institute Feature Film Creative Producing Fellowship is a year-long program for emerging American producers ready to take their next project to the screen. The Fellowship includes: A five-day Feature Film Creative Producing Lab, participation in the Creative Producing Summit, Sundance Film Festival attendance with industry meetings, $5000 living stipend, $5000 pre-production grant, Year-round mentorship from 2 industry Advisors, Community building among Producing Fellows, Year-round support from Sundance Institute staff. Candidates must have produced at least one short or feature-length narrative or documentary film (no more than two narrative features total) and have a legally-optioned scripted narrative project in hand with a director attached. *Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship:
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, in association with Ernst & Young LLP and the Grable Foundation, is offering four scholarships worth $10,000 each in honor of Fred Rogers, the creator and long-time host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. The scholarships are intended to support and encourage aspiring undergraduate or graduate students to pursue careers in children's media and further the values and principles of Fred Rogers' work. *National Eating Disorders PSA Competition:
The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is announcing a PSA competition as part of this year’s national outreach campaign to raise awareness about eating disorders (EDs) during its 24th annual National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Feb. 20-26.  . The entries will be judged by a celebrity media panel.  The Grand Prize winner will receive round-trip, coach airfare to New York City (domestic 48 states only), two nights hotel stay, $200 in prize/travel money and will be recognized at NEDA’s annual benefit dinner on April 7, where the PSA will debut. A 1st Prize winner will receive a $100 prize; and a 2nd Prize winner will receive a $50 prize.  All three PSAs will be featured on NEDA’s website, will be shown at NEDA’s annual conference, Oct. 13-15, in Los Angeles; and will be made available to media outlets and other organizations. The PSA must be 30 seconds in length; be all original material; have a helpful, hopeful or informative message about EDs; and include the NEDA website address and/or helpline number. Submissions must be accompanied by an official submission/release form and postmarked/received no later than Feb. 20, 2011 @ noon EST. Winners will be notified by and an announcement made no later than March 14, 2011. Entries that do not meet all guidelines will be disqualified. Submissions will not be returned. Needed:  a  5-7 minute demotape that is a promotional tape that is character-personality driven– in the style of a Seinfeld/Conan/Chelsea Handler/Jon Stewart – memorable, edgy.  Different cuts of one person riffing with intercuts of appropriate stock footage, graphics, photos inserted in post.  Finished product to include music.  People needed:  Videographer/producer, sound person, cinematographer, editor. Location:  To expedite – quiet area on Chapman campus – indoors.  Time:  Two half days – three hours each – with ability to review footage between shoots. Can work on weekends or early evening. *DreamWorks Television Internship:
The intern will get full knowledge of the TV business from the initial development of a project through the current production. A couple of on air projects in production include The United States of Tara on Showtime and Rescue Me on FX, with several others in development and soon to air.The position would include research into various development projects, coverage, learning an understandingof television ratings, a weekly intern memo and typical administrative duties. The department is small and the intern is very active with us. Right now we are looking to fill Mon. – Fri. Ideally the intern would be able to work two or three days a week, and has an interest in the field of entertainment, be it TV or film.
