Storm's Costume

After reading the thread on BP 25, I got wondering.  Storm has has had more costumes than nearly anyone outside of the wasp.  (I'm exergerating.)  So, which is your favorite? which do you hate the most?

My favorites are probably her first costume and I do like the current one.

My least favorite was that full body ugly suit she wore.  It covered her from the neck down, plus the cape. And it was gray I believe.  I think it was during Silvestri's run on X-men.

From most to least favorite,

The White Suit.

The X-treme X-Men outfit.

The Punk outfit, especially the way it was drwn in BP #15. Loved it!

And this little number.

Jim Lee's short cropped business woman haircut was my fave.  Gotta find a pic though.

My least favorite is that X-Treme X-Men one, but I don't really like the current one either. As beautifully as Yardin and Eaton drew Storm, that costume still looks "bargain basement" to me.

Even when Alan ("He-who-when-drawings-of-Storm-are-considered-should-be-known-as-The-Man") Davis was last drawing Uncanny, it didn't appeal to me (he didn't design it).

The pattern on the cape makes it look tattered...



Is this supposed to approximate lightning or an animal pelt?

The sash(?) around the waist with the lightning clasps is uninspired.



The whole thing is just...bland. It actually looks like a homemade Halloween costume! A woman who's been to the farthest reaches of the galaxy could do better. (I sound like that Blackwell dude...)

Anyway, Storm's costume sorely needs a re-design.

Hey now!

I like that "little number" almost as much as I like my little number 8  ;)

But I'd think the long skirt - if that is what she is wearing - could be somewhat confining if she was ever in battle, which she appears to be in the fine graphic you've provided.

Actually, her current costume is cool and so was the one from Xtreme Xmen and the original one was the best and the one she wore in Priest's version of BP in issue 26 or 27 was fine too.  Love Alan Davis' depiction of her as well as Eaton's and Hairsine's from BP #7....an old artist from the UXM was Paul Smith and he drew a very good version of her.

I believe it's a dress. And if she can do combat with six feet of cloth bonded to her, why not a dress? :D
