Have you ever...
« on: March 11, 2011, 06:20:09 pm »
Have you ever read a novel & remembered a piece here or there, but for the life of you, you can't remember reading it? I just read (reread) Lincoln Child's DEEP STORM. I remember a warning, a piece of tech, the big reveals but I don't remember reading it. I can't remember the characters or the story, but I must have read it. And it was a good book, probably one of his best solo titles. Weird.

Man, I thought I was alone on this....

I was reading Phillip Roth's "The Human Stain", the part about the professor being accused of racism for using the word "spooks" in reference to absent students.  He was trying to be clever by using another word for "ghosts"; but to his surprise, the missing students were black. Oppsy!  He got fired.

When I started this part of the book, it sounded familiar.  But as I read on, I realized that I somehow knew every detail.  Freaky.

Free your mind, and your ass will follow.
