Poor Adrienne. The fake boobs, the bad costume design and the the cheapness of the materials....she never had a chance.

Why is it so hard to get this right?

The plus side, I read that might be a protype costume and not the final one so maybe they will fix some things.  I saw someone photoshop it a little darker and made her boots red and it looked good.

But, she doesn't have the face for Diana.  Maybe it's a bad pose, but that's not a "face that could launch a thousand ships."

But with some modfications, I think the costume could work.

Lynda Carter looks like an adult to me; she doesn't.  But somewhat I wonder if the fact that I am on the other side of Wonder Woman's age, no one will look right, because my mind will see any actress as "too young".

No, it's not her age.  I wouldn't nominate Michelle Rodriguez for the role, but there's no doubt she's a bad ass chick who can handle her business.  Same with Angelina Jolie, who would have been perfect for a movie version.  This young lady...at least based on one photo, which is an unduly harsh way to judge an actor...may not have it.  I hope she does.  My daughter will be dying to see this.

Lynda Carter is classic, and will forever be... I remember an interview with her saying she was half-Latin..   ;)

I don't know if this was a preliminary, rush-job outfit just for the pilot.. hmm.. Outside of issues with whoever's wearing it, they should have gone for a darker, navy blue for the pants.. Also, her boots are traditionally red with the white stripe.  The bustier/tunic should have been a darker, crimson shade.  For what its worth, I wouldn't have minded the jacket since they already went with the pants. Plus there's an overall "plastic" sheen to the way it photographs. The tiara design i'm not sold on, I'd have to see film footage for how easy it takes off (can she still throw it?)

and, ah.. is ms.palicki even 5-10?  I think Carter was legitimately tall..

According to IMDb she is 5'11", taller than Carter's 5'9 and half or something like that.

Would it be in poor taste to say that I wouldn't kick either one of them out of bed?

Hands down, Lynda Carter. I think Adrianne is a talented actress. I loved her in "Women in Trouble". But the costume has the worst choice of material. Over design is okay, but it's so plastic. I also wish she could have hit the gym more, but that's my own personal choice.
Do you prefer a hero who will confirm your deepest fears? Or a hero who will inspire faith in humanity and goodness?

No, that would be common sense.

I figure Adrianne will do fine since this show isn’t “Wonder Woman” as much as it is “Ally McBeal has superpowers and fights crime”. There is no definitive mass market version of the character so everybody will always try to reinvent the wheel with the character.

It’s interesting though: you’d of thought that the creators would have cast somebody more Mediterranean-looking to play Wonder Woman. But the folks in casting never met a problem that couldn’t be solved with a Midwestern looking Blonde. Even if they end up having to give said Midwestern looking Blonde a dye job.

As far as the costume goes: its cheesy looking but in fairness so was Lynda Carter’s outfit. It is kinda weird that the chick in the Justice League porno (no, I’m NOT joking-I wish I was) is gonna end up looking more like Wonder Woman than Ms. Palicki does. I will say that the producers of Xena were practically penniless compared to these guys but they managed to create decent looking gear.

I think this is a little unfair choice. We haven't really seen Adrianne as Wonder Woman yet. I grew up watching Lynda Carter, so I not only have her gorgeous appearance to base my vote on but also her great performance. We haven't got to see Adrianne in the role yet, or perhaps even with a finished costume, so I wonder if this competition should be revisited after the new Wonder Woman premieres.

Linda 1000 times. She was just a bad mamajamma from the 70's white, black whatever she was fine!
I ventured into the courtyard followed by 52 brothers bruised battered and scarred but hard.
