Snake Eyes was a brother, of that, I have NO doubt.  And so was Optimus Prime and Grimlock (I'm just sayin'...)

Gi Joe all the way. I had them all. And if I still did I would have a small fortune. :(. Even Breaker is worth a few bucks.

Transformers, but I'd concede that for Americans it's harder. The UK Transformers comic was fantastic (Megatron and Galvatron teaming up to wipe out the other Transformers, an issue-long fight between Prime and Grimlock, Grimlock's dream where he slices Megatron in half and rips up the rest of the Decepticons, etc. etc.), quite simply, while the US one was slightly rubbish, until they started using the writer and artists from the UK. The first couple of years of toys, where they actually looked like real cars and stuff, and then turned into robots - how can you get better than that? And a tape player with cassettes that all turn into robots? And the Dinobots? Hell, in the UK, the letters page was answered by Soundwave, Grimlock and Blaster.

Question - when we're doing these HARD QUESTIONS, why don't we do them as polls?

fascinating, about the UK Transformers/GI Joe stuff.. I never got to read it.. so over there, Megatron and Galvatron were separate beings? curious..  I wish there were some way we could get some phone-book styled reprint volumes..

I just picked up the 20th anniversary of the Transformers movie.. hopefully they'll do the same thing with GI Joe, and maybe make it a 'director's cut' where they actually let Duke die..

No, over here Galvatron time-travelled back to the 80's, and Megatron was brainwashed by Shockwave into trying to kill his future self, but Galvatron talked him into a team-up that would make them ultimate rulers of the Decepticons.

If you're willing to pay shipping from the UK, Amazon has reprints of the UK volumes in their original A4-size full-colour glory. This is Galvatron's first trip to the 80's, which climaxes in the Autobots allying with Megatron to get rid of him. This is his return trip, with Rodimus Prime, Wreck-Gar and the brilliant Deaths Head chasing him; And this is the epic Time Wars story, which includes the stuff I mentioned above.

I am a complete Transformers whore. ;D

Of those 2, Transformers wins for me.  But in the 80s, I was more of a Thundercats guy!

THIS...could get ugly ;D

All misgivings aside, I choose GI Joe. The first season was really funny at times intentionally so. Like the episode where COBRA gets its own network. They then change the ending of KING KONG because :" When your opponent is bigger and stronger than you are, you can never win."  ;D.
