THE "RACE CARD" AND THE NEED TO DIVERSIFY
« on: October 18, 2011, 02:14:05 PM »
DAVID EVANS:

Reggie,

In our efforts to diversify our country we should turn our attention to the Playing Card Industry.  It seems that particular industry now produces but one deck of cards under the brand name, RACE CARD, and it’s only marketed to African Americans!  For some strange reason the industry refuses to diversify and produce the GENDER CARD, the RELIGION CARD, the ETHNIC CARD, the POLITICAL PARTY CARD, the SEXUAL ORIENTATION CARD, etc., etc.  The RACE CARD isn’t even marketed to ultra conservatives and white racists.  If it were some of the news media might occasionally accuse them of “playing the RACE CARD,” wouldn’t they (smile)?

Perhaps the Playing Card Industry should diversify its brands, market them to others or reclaim all those sold to African Americans or, better still, help to explain that Black folks can only play the cards they have been dealt (smile).

Best regards,

Dave

That's because they're the ones hosting the tournaments for card players.
