Anyone catch this? My first time seeing it was a few weeks ago.
It's definitely not the first time Prince has covered Michael Jackson, and according to several books published in the 90's he covered him more than a few times, but it's great to "see" royalty respecting royalty. I dig the little "homage" steps at the 36 second mark.
One thing I have noticed, Prince seems to cover only, to my knowledge, music that MJ is credited to have written/produced/co-produced. I.E. Shake Your Body/Don't Stop Til You Get Enough etc. rather than songs produced written by others. I thinks it's a great touch..acknowledgement of Michael's under credited artistic skills.
