50 Cent Still Has to Pay Rick Ross’ Baby Mama Even After Bankruptcy
by Robert Littal | Posted on Saturday, July 18th, 2015

In a standard business move after losing a lawsuit, 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy so he wouldn’t have to pay Rick Ross’ baby mama for leaking her sex tape.

Unfortunately for 50, the judge says he has to pay any way.

Despite filing for bankruptcy earlier this week, a judge Friday ruled that the “In Da Club” rapper is still liable for whatever amount a jury decides is enough to punish him for leaking a sex video featuring Rick Ross’ daughter’s mother, BOSSIP can reveal.

The judge made the ruling July 17 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Ct., after Lastonia Leviston asked a judge to halt 50’s bankruptcy and not let him off the hook for punitive damages – money designed to punish 50 for humiliating Leviston. A jury will deliberate on the exact amount beginning July 20—and Leviston could be in the line for more millions.

Punitive damages normally will exceed the original judgment, so while 50 maybe off the hook for the $5 million, it will be more difficult to get around whatever punitive damages she is awarded.

Sometimes juries will decide the lawsuit is petty and award a lower amount, if that is the case, 50 should just pay it and move on. If not he will have to appeal.

Given that Fifty kinda tried to destroy Ross' career with that Officer Rick stuff, this is ironic as all heck.

But I blame Fifty's self imposed hiatus from Rap for a good bit of his current problems.

You need to put out a rap album every two years at minimum or risk your fanbase moving on. Dude forgot that
and is now it the f*cked up position where The Game, of all people is a bigger deal than he is.

That Ross blew up the way he did, is another issue altogether. Turns out nobody cares that Rick Ross' persona is an outright lie.  You can rap, nobody cares if you really dealt drugs or not.

Who knew?

The "realness" requirement in hip hop is silly.  Billy Strayhorn was a teenager living in rural Pennsylvania when he wrote "Lush Life".  After they actually start making money, what rapper is going to stay mad?  That's why Cube wisely transitioned into film so he could express a wider range of characters beyond his persona on his first three albums.

50 Cent understandably can't maintain the mindset of a guy who just got shot while dealing drugs on the street.  He's an actor, producer and an array of businesses.  He's really good at being a bully, and can be really funny about it.  He needs that to be his main business.   How to Rob had that in it, but it works in his skits too.
