Mr. Washington is one of the best actors of the last 20 years with his stunning performances in multiple movies like Malcolm X, Book of Eli, Hurricane and Inside Man (to name a few). His new film is set over in Africa and he successfully plays a government agent who seems to be on the wrong side of the law but later reveals shades of grey and even causes his "Safe House" CIA Agent to question which side of the law is right and what his position should become. Denzel seems to be at the top of his game when he is neither the hero nor the villain but a man conflicted with shades of humanity. Another fine performance from one of the best actors on the American film landscape.
