RIP Gil Noble: The Passing of A Legend
« on: April 07, 2012, 10:39:30 PM »
We have lost yet another giant this week in the form of Gil Noble. Noble was a luminary in NY journalism and a tireless advocate for the Black community as a whole. Noble was intelligent, insightful, poised and most importantly confident enough to let his guests shine as the stars of the show. Whether it was Lena Horne or a drug addict Noble afforded the same level of respect and genuine interest to both.

It was truly an honor and a privilege to grow up watching LIKE IT IS and I know an entire generation is the better for having shared this experience.

I only wished Gil Noble had the opportunity to get the proper accolades in life that he truly deserved.

My prayers go out to his loved ones.

The true tragedy is there isn't a show as good on today.

The piece of trash that ABC is showing in LIKE IT IS former time slot is an absolute disgrace. The best homage to Noble would be to re-air episodes of LIKE IT IS as current events dictate.

Noble's funeral today was just a small testament to his greatness.

Mr. Noble didn't shy away from controversy or fringe viewpoints.

The show in Like it Is' timeslot is nothing like that.

Sadly generic.
