Bootsy Baby Bobba!
The Grammy Museum is one of the best kept secrets in LA. They do some of the best concerts in town in their 300 seat Clive Davis theatre in the LA Live complex. It’s an hour of interview and questions and answers with a guest, then an hour of their new music, or whatever they want to play. I’ve seen Cassandra Wilson there, Raphael Saadiq, and now one of founding fathers of funk Bootsy Collins.
The interview itself was mesmerizing. Bootsy is a terrific storyteller and very honest and inspiring about his early days. I didn’t get any shots of him…too far back for iphone stills with no zoom lens, afterward I got close ups of his famous space bass.
