The Hudlin 100: Best TV Shows of 2011

This is a list of my favorite TV shows.   WARNING:  Clips might contain spoilers if you haven’t watched the show.  But you already don’t watch it, so who cares, right?

1. Game Of Thrones

Certainly best new show of the year, if not best show of the year.

2. Curb Your Enthusiasm

I thought he couldn’t top the Seinfield reunion, but just doing what he does is enough to keep it vital.

3. Louie

How can you write, direct, star and edit and still be that good? And he produced his own stand up special, sold it online himself for a reasonable price, and gave a gang of the profits to his staff and charity. I’m so happy for him. Everybody loves Louie.

4. The Walking Dead

Like most serialized dramas, even better the second year now that it’s found its footing.  Michonne is coming…

5. The Good Wife

Archie Panjabi

Damn fine show.  Best thing on “regular” TV. And as a bonus, many  actors of color doing good work on the show.

6. The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell

Great addition to the MSNBC lineup.  Because I still love Rachel but can’t bring myself to find Current to watch Keith.

7. Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert

Because they’ve been doing it for so long, it’s easy to take them for granted, but these people make progressive politics popular and accessible. I rely on them more than I care to admit.

8. Clip Shows

I’m a huge fan of Tosh.0, and even watch MTV’s RIDICULOUSNESS, even though it’s Johnny Thunder to Tosh’s Hot Wheels.  I’ll even do a WORLD’S DUMBEST marathon  on vacation.

9. Sing Your Song

Harry Belafonte shortchanges telling the story of his career and focuses on his passion instead: social activism.  The years and range of causes is long, but it hits you he’s seen so many impossible things happen – civil rights in America, the end of Apartheid…that it would make sense that he would keep fighting for impossible goals.  Inspiring, to say the least.

10. My Daughter On Jimmy Kimmel

Randomly, my daughter ended up on Kimmel for a few seconds.  I was overjoyed.  She’s so cute!
What, you think I’m gonna put a clip of my daughter on the web?  Nope.
