Tracee Ellis Ross To Star Opposite Eddie Murphy In ‘Candy Cane Lane’ Holiday Comedy For Prime Video

Tracee Ellis Ross has been tapped to star opposite Eddie Murphy in the upcoming Prime Video holiday comedy film, Candy Cane Lane.

The film is written by Kelly Younger, inspired by his own childhood holiday experiences. The film is directed by Reginald Hudlin.

The project marks a reunion for Hudlin and Murphy, as the former directed the latter in the 90s cult classic, Boomerang. 

Plot details are being kept under wraps for the holiday comedy, which is filming in Los Angeles and a part of the California Film & Television Tax Credit Program. Candy Cane Lane first film falling under Murphy’s three-picture and first-look film deal with Amazon Studios.

“The holiday season is my favorite time of year—just ask my family about my nine-hour Christmas playlist!” said Hudlin in a statement in a previous statement. “I‘m excited to be working again with Eddie Murphy, Brian Grazer, and Amazon.”

Candy Cane Lane will be produced by  Murphy and Charisse Hewitt-Webster under Eddie Murphy Productions and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder.
