When Marvel asked me what artist I wanted to work with on the Black Panther, I asked, pleaded and stomped my feet until they agreed to let me work with John Romita Jr. John isn’t just one of the best comic book artists of our generation, he’s also a great guy. I had lunch with him a few weeks before I got the gig and knew we saw eye to eye on the important things, like Jack Kirby and beautiful women.
